U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran, who yesterday upended Senate plans to make changes to Obamacare, told the Kansas City Star he supports full repeal of Obamacare.
“I support the President’s efforts to repeal Obamacare, and I will vote in favor of the motion to proceed,” Moran said in a statement to the Kansas City Star.
Yesterday, Moran and Sen. Mike Lee, a Utah Republican, both announced they would not vote for a Republican bill to overhaul Obamacare.
In a prepared statement, Moran, a Kansas Republican, said the Senate overhaul failed to address the rising costs of healthcare.
“There are serious problems with Obamacare, and my goal remains what it has been for a long time: to repeal and replace it,” his statement reads.
Protesters were set to gather at Moran’s Overland Park office today even after Moran announced he would not support the Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Bill.
