World Magazine, a highly respected Christian publication, says today that Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback may be the next ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom.

According to the magazine, human rights advocates in Washington thought Vice President Mike Pence would make the announcement during the Wold Summit in Defense on Persecuted Christians Thursday. Though that didn’t occur, Kansas speculators have long believed the Governor may be in line for a U.S. State Department role for the Trump administration.

A spokesperson for the Governor told the publication that Brownback is focused on “continued efforts to make Kansas the best state in America to raise a family and grow a business,” Melika Willoughby said.
