The Kansas Department of Revenue today issued a tax warrant to the Sharice Davids for Congress campaign for failure to pay withholding taxes in March, April, and June.

The Kansas Department of Revenue recently issued a tax warrant to Congresswoman Sharice Davids’s campaign.

Congresswoman Davids, a Democrat, seeks re-election in the Third Congressional District of Kansas. The district includes Johnson and Wyandotte counties and a portion of Miami County. Davids faces Republican Amanda Adkins, a business woman from Overland Park.

The tax warrant was directed to the Johnson County Sheriff on Oct. 27. It directs the Davids campaign to pay $1,315.63 and additional penalties, interest, fees, or costs within 60 days.

“Sharice Davids wants to repeal the 2017 middle-class tax cuts and raise our taxes by trillions, but can’t even pay her own campaign’s tax bill on time,” said Matthew Trail, communications director for the Adkins campaign. “Amanda Adkins offers real solutions and meaningful tax relief; Davids continues to stumble over her lies and her campaign’s lawbreaking.”

The Davids campaign had not responded at press time.
