Writing in National Review, Michelle Malkin calls Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer “The Most Important Movie You’ve Never Heard Of.”
Produced by Irish activists Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, Gosnell details the arrest and trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, an abortionist who ran a house of horrors in Philadelphia for years.
Malkin, who reported on the story when it broke eight years ago, calls the film, “the most important movie in America right now — a true-life saga of good vs. evil, deadly medical malpractice, systemic government malfeasance, and cultural apathy toward the most vulnerable members of our society.”
Just as the media suppressed the story of Gosnell’s arrest and trial, they are maintaining a vigil of silence on the release of the movie. This takes some doing. It was finally Democratic prosecutors in Philadelphia who brought Gosnell to justice. His crimes, as Malkin notes, put him in the Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy circle of hell, if not a lower one.
Writes Malkin, “Gosnell brutally executed hundreds of healthy, living, breathing, squirming, viable babies by stabbing them in their necks and severing spinal cords with scissors and knives. This twisted murderer kept newborn baby feet in specimen jars, which he crammed into the grisly refrigerators of his filthy ‘clinic’ for ‘research.’”
In 2013, Gosnell was finally convicted for the murder of three of those babies and for involuntary manslaughter in the case of a refugee from Bhutan who died of a drug overdose at Gosnell’s “Women’s Medical Society.”
The film, which stars “Superman” Dean Cain and is directed by Nick Searcy, focuses on the police work that led to Gosnell’s arrest and the trial. Says Malkin, “Parents with teenage children can and should bring them. We cannot afford to shield them from the truth and leave them vulnerable to the pervasive propaganda of the culture of death.”
In the Kansas City area, Gosnell is playing at the B&B Northland, the AMC BarryWoods, the AMC Independence Commons, the B&B Shawnee 18, the AMC Overland Park, and the B&B Overland Park.
In Topeka, Gosnell is playing at the Regal Hollywood Stadium 14; in Manhattan at the AMC Dine-In, and in Wichita at the Warren West 18 and the Warren East 20.
The producers strongly recommend that viewers attend Gosnell the opening weekend to assure a longer run and more national interest.
