Two days after running a front-page headline story about a nonprofit associated with Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, the Kansas City Star and the St. Louis Post Dispatch felt “so strongly about the governor’s lack of transparency” that they have co-written an editorial to denounce him.
The stated purpose of the nonprofit, A New Missouri Inc., is to “promote ideas, policies and/or legislation to create more jobs, higher pay, safer streets, better schools, and more, for all Missourians.”
The Star, however, believes A New America is “clearly designed to provide unfiltered propaganda about [Greitens’s political agenda.” The Star knows something about “unfiltered propaganda.” For the last six years the Star has drowned the Kansas side of the metro in a sea of it in its Ahab-like pursuit of Gov. Sam Brownback.
This is the same newspaper that just months ago praised the infamous Clinton Foundation for its “admirable work around the globe.” Said the Star of Hillary, “Even if she did play favorites with donors, that’s not illegal.” To be fair, Star editors did encourage Hillary to keep a high wall between her and her donors, but they offered Greitens no such caution. From the looks of things, he appears to be their new white whale.
